I have a Kenmore Elite Dryer (electric) that is not heating. I pulled the toe panel so I could clean it out to see if that was the problem. After I cleaned it out I ran a short cycle and still no heat. I also noticed the heating coil did not change. Should these get hot, turn red during a drying cycle.

I have the tech sheet from the dryer which says to check continuity on several parts but never does it mention the heating element.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes you should check fo continuity on the element. If you have continuity there, be sure you have voltage to the element. You have 2 (I beleive) temp sensors in line also. Check them or jumper them out as well. Use caution dealing with voltage. Saftey first!
