Kenmore Built-in 363 Dishwasher with Standing Water

Hi,
We have a Kenmore 363 Built-in Dishwasher. The dishwasher is not draining all of the way - there is a puddle of standing water (at least a cup) under the cover inlet. We only use the dishwasher once a week or so, and the standing water is growing into something rather unpleasant. We checked the installation directions and the hose height is correct. Any suggestions?

A little water in the dishwasher could be normal, if you are dumping excess water from turned over dished etc as you empty it.

Im certain that the dishwasher is draining long enough, the impeller could be worn, or the pump or motor may be wearing down and not working properly.

If it really got to be a big problem, I would find a way to inspect the discharge, see how much force it has. Make sure the drain cycle is lasting long enough and not being cut short by anything.
