Kenmore 80 series Dryer

My Kenmore dryer 80 series Model #66812690 Won't work. I replaced the cord when I noticed one burnt prong. But it still won't work, it makes a odd noise and won't spin when I try to turn it on. When I try to turn the dryer on I have to hold the start button and the noise lastes for a few seconds before the dryer just stops and does nothing. I know I have power but I can't narrow it down to why it makes this noise and not operate. I noticed a weird smell from the back like something was burnt. I appreciate the help from anyone I can't afford to pay a repairman. This means alot to me so truly Thank You for your help.

So I took the top off and the drum will only spin backwards!?*%^ what does that mean? I think it means my motors shot but if anyone can confirm this for me I'd appreciate it!

Obviously with one burnt prong of the plug there is something drastically wrong with this machine. You need to have a professional look at this before you end up either getting electrocuted or frying your home's wiring. Dryers are big electric consumption machines and are going to give you one heck of a jolt if you hook up the wrong thing. And yes, I think your motor went.
