Kenmore 70 series

Have a Kenmore 70 (110.20722990 ) that will not spin out at the end of a regular cycle. If I rotate the dial 360 to spin and push time dial in it will spin out. I should also say, I have to open and close the lid just before pushing in the dial at spin.

Just had a new switch put in this year for the lid.

Sounds like it is getting sensing out of balance which will shut unit down. then opening and shutting the lid will reset. I would first check to make sure suspension spreng is not broken. There will be 3 suspension springs and 1 counterweight spring

Have you tried to run the machine on another cycle besides the regular?
If not give it a try, if the machine does completes the cycle you most likely have a dead spot in your timer assembly on the regular wash. Timers can be expensive to replace.
If this is the problem you can have the part replaced or may just decided to use
the alternate cycle that completes the load. Let me know if this info helped.

se5a agrees: I should have tried this myself. Should have used this logic myself first. Problem in timer. thank you Maya.
