I know that many people have posted that the water-in-the-door type side-by-sides have problems with leaks that are due to valve problems.

My issue is that there is a very slow leak into the ice-maker. After several days, the water overflows the tray and also freezes in the dispenser hose making a very attractive ice fountain in my freezer.
The solenoid valve is my best guess as the problem - does anyone know if that is a possible cause?

The water valve could be the problem. Another thing could be that you Icemaker is not level front to back and the water is over flowing one end of the tray. Or it could be that the tray is not level side to side and water is leaking over one edge. Does the icicle form in one slender shape or does it run the length of the tray.
On the icemaker there should be an adjustment that will let you control the size of the "cubes" so making them just a little smaller might solve your problem.

Thanks for the post - I did think to check the level or adjust the size of the ice. The only thing that makes me think it is the valve is that I also get ice that forms up the dispenser tube - inside the freezer but above the tray - that seems to come from very slow, periodic drips from the tubing.

I will check the other ideas though as well.
