The washer will fill and it will agitate for about 10 seconds, then it will stop.When it stops there is no motor sound.Then after about one minute it will start by itself and repeat the same thing over and over no matter what I set the knob to it does the same thing. Could it be the timer?
My washer spins but does not get clothes dry in most cycles. Sometimes we can respin and it works but most times it does not. Any suggestions?

The scatter rugs were all on one side during a spin cycle. The machine banged around. Before I could reach it, the machine stopped mid-spin. All cycles work now except spin. No spin at perm press, no spin at heavy duty settings--both attempted with lid down. Water does not drain. I siphoned it out....
