Dryer staining clothes with brown streaks
My kenmore series 90 dryer is leaving brown streaks (about 1-2 inches long, like a crayon mark) on my clothing. It looks like it may be coming from brown glue around the seal in the door. Anyone heard of this before? Is it worth replacing the door?

Same problem. See following link, which indicates the problem is a worn or missing seal at the rear of the drum. This makes sense, as when I drag a white business card along the gap at the back of the drum, I get a brown stain on the card that matches the stains on the clothes. Just found the link, so cannot confirm the fix, but it is what I'm going to try.

The referenced thread contains a link to a site that has instructions on how to replace the rear seal.

I had the same thing with a whirl pool. Turned out it as rust stains. Which are hard to get out of clothes. Harde but not impossible.

Change drum rollers, and seal locate at back edge of the drum. The gasket will come with high temp glue. Use heat gun to pull the old seal out.

The problem is not a gasket its called a TOP and BOTTOM (Felt). It is around the front of the dryer drum. You will also need to replace the dryer drum and belt.

Washer or dryer is staining clothes [ 4 Answers ]

Not with every load but often either the washer or dryer is staining our clothes... The stain color is like a blue to green color. No fabric softener is used. What would be the cause of the stains and where do I begin to figure out what the problem is Thanks

Squeaky clothes dryer [ 2 Answers ]

I was reading your post in "squeaky clothes dryer" and I had a question. I have the same problem. I have an older model "Simplicity" gas dryer. I think that it is also the rear drum bearings, but how can I check to tell if that is actually the problem and if it is the problem how do I repair it...

Ok, my dryer squeeks, I get brown marks on my clothes alllll the time from them getting stuck in the front part of the drum... and today I had to pull the dryer away from the wall... and there is a brown spot on the back. Here is a picture. I'm hoping we can fix this ourselves, I'd hate to have...
