Downdraft Stove oven element not working

I have a Whirlpool Downdraft stove and the lower element has stopped heating up.

I have the 'element' but I dont' know how to install it.

Do you have to remove the stove from the wall? I wouldn't think so, but I can't seem to find a way to install it from 'inside' the stove.

Please help!

Angela

Most can be accessed from the front. Usually just 2 screws hold them in. For saftey, unplug unit before servicing

I'm not sure I am answering my own post correctly, but here goes.

There are two wires that go through the 'hole' in the back of the store, the element plugs into that, but one of the wires has fallen behind the stove. So how would I 'get' the wire back through the hole? would I have to remove the entire stove? BAD design. And this was not a cheap stove!

Any other ideas? OR do you know how to remove the downdraft exhaust?

HELP!
