Connecting washing machine hose to sink drain
I just got a new Maytag washer and dryer. The serviceman could not connect the drain hose to my laundry sink drain because the hose end and the sink drain end are exactly the same size.

He said that he did not have a "hose connector" to accommodate the 2 hoses. He told me to get one at the hardware store.

Whenever I try to "google" such a part, I just get pictures of the entire hose unit.

Help! What do you call that part that could be used to connect 2 equal size hoses and how do you put it on??

Thanks for helping, I thought I would be doing a load of laundry by now!

I believe the part you are looking for would be a reducer. You should be able to find it in at the store. If you can't find it in the pluming section, look by the garden hoses. There is a chance there might be one designed for primarily outdoor use.
