    Ceiling fan started making a scraping noise .
    The fan rotates fine on all three speeds but you hear a scraping noise.

    Climb up there are observe the fan blades going around as it's obviously scraping on something. If you can't see the blades scraping against anything then it's inside the fan motor housing. Have you recently replaced the blades or taken the fan down or put it up?
