ARRGH! I spent fifty bucks and 2 hours working on this dryer and it still squeaks!
So my dryer was making a terrible squeal I could hear at the neighbor's house. I replaced the rear drum bearing and the heating element today and greased it up plenty, but it's still squeaking!  For some reason the screws that I attached the drum and the bearing plate wouldn't tighten properly and left a gap b/w parts. Could this possibly be why my dryer is still noisy? Help! My dryer is a Frigidaire Gallery model # GLER331AS2

If not assembled properly, very well could be the noise you are hearing. Did you check the rollers and the idler while you had the unit apart?

Yes, greased them like crazy, even though there was no squeak from them when I tested them. Also, managed to tighten up screws b/w drum and bearing, but still squeaks. I even replaced the felt liner b/w drum and front panel, to no avail! It is still squeaking terribly. Any ideas??

I would check the belt tensioner pulley. So many times thes seize up. Also check the spring on it. Other than that you will just have to listen closely to identify where it is coming from

Whirlpool Dryer Squeaks. Is it the motor? [ 3 Answers ]

Ok, so my Whirlpool dryer started to squeak a few days back. I tore the thing apart this evening. I WD40ed the rollers in the back. Didn't help. So I unhooked the belt that connects the drum to the motor to see if the motor was making the sound. I turned the thing on - still squeaking. I have...
