Kenmore gas dryer removal?

I have a kenmore gas dryer that needs the motor replaced. Problem is that I'm not sure how to remove the blower blades that sit in front of the motor. The dryer model number is 110 70942990. I have the parts on order and would like to do the repair myself. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Look at Welcome to the Parts Store for a parts diagram. It should help.

Some blower fans are attached to the motor shaft with a set screw. Look for one around the circumference of the fans center ring. Some are attached with a "C" clip which should be plainly visible. Use a "C" clip removal tool, if you have one or a needle nose pliers. Others are a press on fit using a key way in a slot in the shaft of the motor. Fan than pulls off and new one pressed back on. Several different methods used. Not sure for the model you have but most are easy enough to figure out. May have to remove the entire motor assembly to access only the fan blades inside the blower cage.

Parts are in and installed. To remove the blower blades one has to use a 1/2 inch drive ratchet and a 7/16 open end wrench on the motor shaft. The threads are left handed. After removing the blades there were only three 1/4 metal screws holding the blower housing in place.

Hope this will be of some help to some.
