Hi

I would try to google for a download. But I note Scott said OS is currently up to X. If you are using a beige box Mac it is too early to install OS X safely. I asked someone to do it for me last week. He said my old G3 desktop (beige) was too old. And explained that he could install the software then the computer would ask for firmware update and at that point you could either not go any further or you risk it. The firmware update is irreversible and it either kills the computer or not. You can't tell in advance. His advice in my specific situation was to stick with OS9 on that particular Mac. So I did. Now I want a way to get it to network between storeys and thought airport. But that is proving a problem with OS9! Still at least I didn't kill off my G3!

Hope this helps?

Snowred

to go from 8.6 to 9, you need to buy 9 first I think... ebay...

then updates from 9 to 9.1, 9.2 is free... but I don't think you can jump from 8.x to 9 without buying 9.
