Free antivirus download for laptop

I want a free antivirus software for my laptop 'coz I'm feeling that my laptop contains viruses comes from my internet. Can you help me find a free download? Thanks!

For simplicity, I would recommend Microsoft Security Essentials. It may not be the very best AV program out there, but is has received good reviews, and will install easily and do its job quietly. If you want no-hassle protection, I'd use this.

Others I have used are AVG (there is a free version, but it is difficult to find), and Avast! However, when I am setting up a computer for someone I now use the Microsoft AV above.
