Traumeel is great for pain and inflammation. It is a homeopathic and very safe to use.
You can use cream to rub on the sore areas or/and tablets under the tongue for a more generalzed effect.
I use it for pain, bruising and swelling at work and see it promote healing. It is great stuff.
There is also rescue remedy that is a cream for promoting healing and tiger balm is great for muscle aches and pains. All of these are very safe.

Try hylaronic acid I take it everyday. It takes about a month to start noticing.
I buy some cheap brand at Wal Mart.
They say that vets use it for race horses and it helps aid in healing quickly.

I just wanted to add that Traumeel also comes in a tincture which is taken under the tongue. My nephew takes it before practices and games and it's been reducing the extent and duration of bruising. Using the cream after-the-fact is a great combination.
