Hi all! I'm sure this question has been asked before, but after doing a bit of searching I haven't really found an answer yet. So...here goes...:)

I came off of TriNessa (b/c pills) in April after being on them for the better part of a year and a half. I got my next period (1st cycle without the pills) May 06th. It was a normal period with no changes from my previous ones. Well, on June 2nd (yesterday) I got my 2nd period after coming off the pills. This is a shorter cycle than I'm used to, but I attributed that to my body still adjusting to coming off of the pills and having to get used to normal cycles again. This period is odd though. So far I haven't really had any bright red bleeding. It has all been dark brown, which I know is a sign of old blood. There has been a bit of red or pink in it here or there, but nothing that I would consider a normal period. Sometimes this happens at first, but it has never persisted this long without turning into a normal period. Follow me so far? Lol. I feel like I'm sharing way too much info! -Sigh-

There is a chance of pregnancy I presume. I've been sexually active in the last month, mainly using the withdrawl method. I'm aware this isn't a reliable source and have taken steps to get back on b/c my next cycle. After doing some research I don't -think- any sexual activity happened around my fertile days, but I'm not sure since my cycle was probably thrown off by coming off of the pills.

So, I guess I'm a bit confused. Help? Input? Thanks :)

Withdrawal is a horrible method to use, and if you are really concerned you should try an HPT. Cycle changes are common when going on or coming off the pill. Until you get back on them, I suggest Ortho Contraceptive Gel in addition to withdrawal, although it is still a bit risky. If the HPT comes out neg, I wouldn't worry this time.

HPT came up neg, although I didn't use FMU like it says. Lol. I guess I'm waiting it out and seeing what happens for now.

Sounds like your body is just going through an aadjustment period from manufactured hormones to your natural hormones. Go ahead and take another HPT using first morning urine, but honestly I believe this is just your period.

Please keep us posted as to what the next HPT says.

This always happens to me after being on birth control for a while and stopping. My OB/GYN said this is normal due to b/c making your cycle somewhat more regular and often times lighter, your body is just readjusting. There is a slight chance you are pregnant, but I doubt it! Good luck!!!!!!
