Hi, my name is Kay and I am new to this site. I have a friend who has over 6 months clean and sober from Meth. She is mandated to drug and alcohol classes and UA testing. Three weeks ago, she had to UA test 2 times in the same day and one of the test came back negative. So now she has to go to court where she might have to go to jail. So now the courts would like to do a hair folicle test. She is nervous because she died her hair a different color and she thinks the dye will affect the test. Is this true?

No, the dye will not show either a positive or a negative. However, if she has not had her hair cut for this 6 months, she still may show positive unless they take the hair closest to the scalp.
