my daughter goes to a private elementary school, i'm pretty sure that i cannot deduct the cost of her tuition. But Does Anyone Know If I Can Deduct The Cost Of Her Uniforms. They Are Required. We Are Doing Our Taxes Ourselves And We Need Help.

Yes, because she is required that she wear the uniform....also the tuition my be deductible also? I am no tax expert, buy you can always call the IRS...they will give you the correct information. There toll free number is 1-800-829-1040. Good Luck!

NEITHER the tuition NOR the uniforms are deductible.

Any attempt to deduct it should be avoided, as the IRS LOOKS for such deductions, especially among the upper middle class who can afford to send their children to private schools.
