I've been blonde before..many times actually but for the winter I went with a more natural light brown/dark blonde with a few super light blonde highlights. Then the nice weather kicked in and I wanted to be blonde again.

So I went to Sally Beauty Supply and bought miss clairol winter wheat. this did not work. my roots came out bright yellow and the rest of my hair had a slight hue of ash blonde. so i went back and bought miss clairol hi lift extra blonde which is supposed to lift 5 levels and just in case i picked up clairol 7th stage lightener and a ligtening packet (im at college and i dont have a car, so i didnt want to make my friends take me several times) and i also bought the original miss clairol winter wheat to use with the bleach if i went that route.

well i decided to go with the extra blonde. mixed it with 4 oz. 40 developer(i even got the brand name clairol developer) so i put that on and it felt ok so i left it in for 45 minutes, washed my hair and conditioned with beyond the zone last call hair masque. got out of the shower and noticed my roots were BRIGHT yellow and the ends of my hair were ash blonde. so i decided to try and add color back in...so i mixed up half the winter wheat (with 10 volume developer)applyinig it to my roots and then slowly working it through. left it on for 30 minutes, showered, came out and it did nothing.

now, i dont know what to do. i just wanted to be an ash blonde or something similar to cameron diaz in charlies angels(it was on tv while i was dyeing) please help. i dont have much money and going to a salon is close to out of the question, plus i dont even know of a good salon to go to. any suggestions would be great! i was thinking about going back and getting clairol second nature ligh ash blonde to see if that would help any but now im not sure. thanks!!!

If your hair is bright yellow and want to tone it down, I recommend using a light ash blonde hair color. Leave the color mixture on for 10 minutes then rinse it out. This will tone down the yellow and it will be more ash blonde.
