Dark hair has a lot of red pigment in it. Therefore, if you use permanent color on dark hair, it will result in a red/orange color. You will need to use an a blue-base ash hair color to neutralize the orange tones. Choose a blonde hair color that is ‘ash’ in tone, such as medium ash blonde or ash blonde.
