Last night I had 2 12oz beers and 1 shot of tequila which was last consumed at 10:15pm. The next following day I had a drug/alcohol test at 6PM but it only test for standard ethanol, NOT EtG. Do you think I passed the test? Not sure if this helps but because I drank so much water my urine was very light colored so they dropped a sample on a machine to see if it was diluted and they said it had to be a .5 or higher but mine was a .4 but they let accepted my urine sample anyway.

Nope... I think you failed.

Drinking a lot of water is intentional dilution and its viewed as an attempt to cheat a test and its an automatic fail when detected.

But I thought your body disposes 1 drink every 1-2 hours?

THere is no hard and fast rule that applies to everyone equally. But that is a basic rule of thumb that applies to a breatholyzer... and is considered a bare minimum. But blood and urine tests are far more sensitive.

Drinking excessive water screws up your body chemistry in a very predictible way and is easy to detect, it also takes a significantly longer time to return to normal compareed to the time alcohol remains in your system.

Whats the reason for the test? It matters because thresholds are different depending on the reason for testing.
