i found the problem when my ac lines froze... I checked the filter and A coils for dirt restricting air flow.... all was clear. I then noticed when the ac unit is running the fan would quit running will the AC unit continued running. I then shut the air off and set the thermostat to fan ( so the fan would continuously run) after doing so, the fan will run for approximately 5 minutes... shutoff for approx 4-8 seconds then continue. I suspect a relay... but i have no idea where it would be . my furnace is a comfort maker.

thanks in advance

Your fan motor has an internal overload protector so if the motor gets too hot it will cut itself off, so either your motor is overheating or the switch is weak. Is your motor clean? Have you done anything to put more load onto the motor like opening up the out put opening on the blower? Both of these things will make the motor overheat.
