Im currently on probation for a dui, I don't party too much but I like to have the option of drinking here and there. I was just curious since an EtG is so sensitive should I have been given a list of products that would set off a false positive? I was thinking of just asking my probation officer and the treatment place but id rather not.

So, the way you've worded this question, it makes it sound to me like you want a list of what could cause a false positive so you can drink when you feel like having the option to do so.

We can't help you with that. If you've been told you can't drink as a condition of probation, you are best off following that and just making it through probation without messing around.

No, I'm not trying to "mask" my results. I was asking since I wasn't provided documentation as to what will set off a false positive, would this be an indicator that I won't be getting an EtG test? NOT drinking isn't a problem... I just want to know what I'm being tested for.

Probation for a DUI = no drinking alcohol and no using any products with alcohol in them. You don't need a list.

How long is this probation?

Let me rephrase my question. Since I didn't receive a list of products that cause incidental exposure to alcohol is this indicative of not taking an EtG test ?

EtG tests are random. I'm sure you will be asked to take at least one during probation. That's why I asked how long probation is set for.

No that does not mean that they won't pop a surprise test on you.

No what it means is that you have to be careful what you intake. Every product these days has an ingredient list on the package. You need to read the list before you take anything. If you go out to eat in a restaurant, ask that your meal not be prepared with alcohol. If you go to a friends house to eat ask them in advance to make sure they don't use alcohol in prep.

You don't need a list, that's why you weren't given one.
