Someone I know got caught stealing at a work place by voiding orders, and pocketing the money. The receipts would then get thrown out. The money took was around 500$.

It's going to depend on what the company wants to do about it.

1. They pay the company back, are fired and nothing else happens.
2. they pay the money back, get charged in court, and get a plea deal that ends up with no record.
3. they end up going to court, paying a fine, paying the money back, and having a record.
*** there are many combinations between

Is the crime committed as theft or fraud? And also the crime happened over a course of 4-5 months.. Will they be looking at multiple counts or just one count?
