That can come with consequences. Was the PFA against him covering both you and your son? There are different approaches you can take depending on the circumstances. You can have a 3rd party drop/off pick up if you still want the order for yourself. Then too, the court isn't going to take it lightly that you drop PFA's so casually. They can get involved if you drop it and they feel there is a danger.

He was abusive to me not my son dcs got involved and told me to put it on him it was either put it on him or get my son taken away. The protective order lasts for 2 years. I don't know what to do. I can't wait for my son to be 2 yeats old before his father can see him his 1st birthday is on November 14.

You can not drop the PFA, you can not allow father to see him. Violating or dropping it could result in you losing your son as well. All that can be tried is for dad to keep taking it back to court documenting his changes, improvements and everything he has done like anger management, etc...

You can simply file something with the court that you want the protective order dropped. The judge might want to hold a hearing to find out if you are sure abot it.

Did Child Protective Services (or whatever they call it in your locality) demand that you ask for the protective order? Chances are that they won't know if you drop the order, but who knows?

Since DCS made it mandatory in order to keep her son, I don't see how she can file anything. The dad can ask for a hearing, but I think it would make mom look like she was willing to endanger her child and they could take him away. I wouldn't trust the 'won't know if she drops it'. It being a court order by the Judge that DCS made it mandatory ''dcs got involved and told me to put it on him it was either put it on him or get my son taken away.'' I don't see where she has any choice without repercussions
