I'm selling a vehicle on ksl classifieds, a Utahs version of craiglist. I had someone text me saying he's interested in purchasing my car which was OK until after a few texts he was persisting on making a payment using pay pal and not even wanting to inspect or look at the car before purchasing it. Now I hear that pay pals a pretty secure method of making and receiving payments, but these texts just seemed a little too strange. Maybe I'm paranoid, but is there any way that I could get scammed?

Yes, this is most likely a scam. Who buys a vehicle without looking at it? Is he going to send someone to collect it from you or were you supposed to ship it to him and he will pay extra for the shipping?

Don't do it.

The typical Paypal scam is to send you a very real looking Paypal email saying you have been paid, and the scammer hopes you won't look in your account. Happens every day on eBay. Countless people don't even know their way around inside their Paypal.

Anyway... don't do it. Anything that easy sounding is a scam.

Paying extra for the shipping is a scam. They are using other peoples checks for you to cash and then their delivery person takes the remainder of the check for shipping which they give to the scammer, I got one of those checks from Roundup Ranch Camp in Colorado. I called and sure enough they said somebody has been getting money from their account somehow. What first gave it away to me was the emails kept getting stranger
