How many 8 counts should I do for my high school cheerleading tryouts?when I tried out for my jr high I only did one 8 count and I made the team.:confused:

Thank you for posting your question to the Ask Me Help Desk.

My recommendation would be to find out what the typical dance routine consists of at the school you are trying out at.

If they typically do 4 8-count dances, do that.

If they typically do 8 8-count dances, do that.

You want to be able to show them that you can do what they perform on a regular basis.

You may also want to check and see if they have certain rules for the try outs. Perhaps they only want candidates to do 1 or 2 8-counts.

If there are no rules on the try-outs and they totally mix it up with different amounts of 8-count routines, then I would take as many 8-counts as you need to show them what you are made of.
