Dr. Bill 100, I need assistance interpreting the results of an ETG urine analysis. I took an ETG urine analysis and the results state:

[968] 8 Panel Dilute Creatinine [Level 15.00]
[968] 8 Panel Positive Ethyl Glucuronide [Level: 0.00]
URINE: Ethyl Glucuronide - ETG (500 ng/ml) POSITIVE
Specimen Validity Panel (20 mg/dl) 15.0
"Specimen too dilute to assure valid NEGATIVE results."

I am requesting assistance in understanding this data.

Well you drank far too much water and it came back a diluted specimen.

What happens with a failure?

Looks like you tested positive for EtG in your urine... but you drank too much water trying to clean yourself out so they won't believe any negatives either.

Basically, looks like you failed.

Right, in my area this is an automatic failure for diluting. No second test, no second chance.

No one dilutes without a reason.

I appreciate the responses, but my focus remains on the understanding and interpretation of the test results.

My main purpose when I go to the testing center is to do my business and go home. As a result, I have had several dilute tests:

Creatinine Level 11.90
Creatinine Level 14.30
Creatinine Level 9.30
Creatinine Level 19.50
Creatinine Level 13.50
Creatinine Level 15.60
Creatinine Level 15.00

But none of them have resulted in a positive.

I am more concerned about the Ethyl Glucuronnide level of 0.00 listed on the test.

"Ethyl Glucuronnide Level 0.00"

I have one other result to compare it to, a positive:

"Ethyl Sulfate level 561.00 & Ethyl Glucuronide level 1248."

The positive test was a 10 panel ETG test. This current test with the 0.00 Ethyl Glucuronide was an 8 panel ETG test, I am not sure of the difference. I would like to know what my Ethyl Sulfate level is to compare it to the other test. Additionally, the test simply states the cutoff level of 500 ng/ml for the positive/negative results. Examining the information I have been presented shows my Glucuronide below 500 ng/ml at 0.00.

Any analysis of the data presented would be appreciated.
