My son and his girl friend live with us. They have a 2 month old daughter. Since she has came home from the hospital, my husband and I have taken care of her. We have her 24/7 while they are either in bed all day or off drinking. She already has a son that lives with her parents. I need to know how do I go about getting custody of my grand daughter. Her parents can't or won't take care of her. Please help.

You better read them the riot act about responsibility first, and then stop doing their work for them. You and your husband bear half the responsibility for allowing this crap for the last two months so change yourself first.

While I agree with talaniman, if you want custody, you need to prove them unfit. Report the situation to your local Family Services agency and indicate you want to foster the child. Or get an attorney to file for custody.

We have took her to them so they could take care of her but they go to sleep while she is screaming and crying.they are unfit as parents.they would rather drink and party than take care of their child.. The baby's mothers stays in the bed all day, will not help clean ,cook, or do anything for the baby. We are fed up with how they act.We want to get custody to make sure she is protected and has a stable home.
