I have the quick release adapter. Problem is the drill bits come in such small sizes.
I need at least 3/16. Otherwise I will have the chuck key around my neck.

Are there any new drills that have quick release from drill bit to other type of bits
Without being a hex shank configuration

Hi,
Admittedly hex shank drill bits are pricey most places including Walmart, Lowe's and Home Depot, but the soft adapter and bits to go with it are too.
You could think about inexpensive bit sources such as:
Buy Drill Bits - Associated Industrial Distributers (http://www.buydrillbits.com/products/hss/gp2.php?c=QUICKCHANGE-HSS-FRAC)
Or perhaps doing the change over to a keyless chuck.
Peace,
Clarke

I have found a set of 4 Hex shank bits,including a 3/16.at Home Depot for $10.00
Now I am in business.I already have a quick release adapter. Otherwise I would have used
To drills. On with the drill bit and the other with the screw bit. Thanks for the info
