Hi all,

If we exclude the checking account interest on form 1040 NR (nonresident alien)
do we need to include it if we file a resident state tax (CA 540) on our state tax return.

Thanks, Tanya

Tanya:

If the interest is exempt from federal taxes, it is also exempt from state taxes as well.
