I was hoping someone could help me. We are trying to get custody of my step daughter the Mother tested positive for Meth and Morphine. We are looking for information on line about hair follicle testing and how it differs from Urinalysis. You see she is passing her urine tests but failed the hair follicle test. Help!

The drugs stay in the hair follicle until the hair is cut off. Once a person stops drug use the urinalysis will come back negative, but the drug will remain in the follicle.

A urinalysis will be negative for morphine after 1 - 2 days of non-use and 3 days for a blood test.

Meth will not be detected in urine after 1 - 7 days for both blood and urine.

Again, it will remain in the hair follicle for months and months.
