I have a beckett afg series oil burner.When it is running it has a vibration that echoes throughout the furnace.If you put your hand on the burner it has a distict vibration.That indicates to me that something is out of balance.Furnace runs excellent but I feel that something may go on it if I don"t find out what is causing the vibe.Don"t get me wrong it's not like the furnace is jumping off the floor.It is just an annoying sound.Any suggestion would be appreciated... bart53

Check to be sure the King Coupler between the motor and oil pump is not loose. Most of the time that will be the noise/vibration maker.

What keeps the coupler tight?Are there set screws on it on each end.Thanks for your quick reply... bart53

Most of the couplers today are a push fit. They come in a bag and you cut the coupler the correct size then put on a end cap on each end that fits the motor and pump since the motor and pump shafts can be a different size. I believe there were some factory couplings that had set screws that would tighten down. There were small cut outs in the small blower wheel that would allow you to use a hex key wrench to tighten them. Allen key was also a name for a hex key I believe. You will have to tear it apart to see what is the problem just like a service person would.

Often that vibration can be cured by simply backing off the burner motor mouting screw(s) slightly. By slightly I mean maybe 1/4 turn.
