Brand new carrier infinity system is so much louder than old system. When blower kicks in the sound overpowers everything. Any thoughts?

These questions would be better asked and answered by the professional HVAC contractor that did the install for you. The system you have can be rather complex and needs proper adjustments to work properly. It sounds to me like the blower is not set/adjusted properly for your system but that is only a guess since I am not there to use my test instruments to check the adjustments. One thing I will tell you is that there is NO user adjustments that you can do correctly without some special tools/meters. Sorry but that is about all I can do for you today.

I agree completely with hvac1000. I would only add that if your old furnace was extremely old (say old enogh to be belt driven vs direct drive blower motor) the newer furnace will move more air thus more noise will be heard. I say call the installer and have them come check things out. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they told you that this noise is completely normal for your system.
