So I recently turned 18, and am now trying to locate my birth mother. Sadly I the only thing I know about her is that she had me at 19, making her 37 today. I also have a small picture of her face, but no name. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Why don't you put an ad in the paper with the picture ?

Why was your adoption not open or semi-open?

If you are 18, it would be VERY unusual for that not to be the case.

Was this an international adoption? Were you adopted out of foster care?

Your adoptive parents probably have more information than they are giving you--if nothing else, they know the name of the agency used for adoption, and they may be able to help you further.

Why do you want to find her ?

But no you will have to find out much more info, and most likely your adopted parents have more info.

Call 1 800 big hugs see if they can help , sometimes just knowing what hospital you were born in will help them locate the birth mother , Good luck and God bless.

REALLY?

Because that sounds like a HUGE invasion of privacy to me, especially in a closed adoption.

Is what they do LEGAL?
