If you have a potential relay with a start capacitor you MUST replace both the capacitor and the relay. A potential relay is square with wires at 5, 2, and 1. 5 goes to common, 2 to start, and 1 from capacitor. There is a high resistance coil between 5 and 2 that opens the contacts between 1 and 2 when the motor is spinning fast enough. You must match these relays exactly and if coil burns out relay stays in until something blows. That's why you don't risk reusing one.http://www.globalindustrial.com/p/electrical/relays-sequencers/relays/packard-potential-relay-420-150?utm_source=google_pr&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Relays-google_pr&infoParam.campaignId=T9F&gclid=CK-e3YG7y7ECFROd7Qod20kAJAhttp://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://neilorme.com/pics/potential.relay.ladder.jpg&imgrefurl=http://neilorme.com/csr_motor.shtml&h=725&w=800&sz=38&tbnid=l6EikUUyYVKQUM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=99&zoom=1&usg=__11GkUjHSo4TvIxI-RfJRE9jH-ic=&docid=hSKrI--obhuusM&sa=X&ei=y8IbUKqwKYe16gG6pYH4DA&ved=0CJ4BEPUBMAQ&dur=5725
