My mother left me a home. Are attorney told me to just keep paying the loan after her death almost 3 years ago. I recently recieved a phone call from the bank telling me that I must change over the name. Her death was annouced in the paper to all creditors they never responded. Am I responsible for this loan?

You are not personally responsible for paying the loan but if the loan does not get paid back then the lender can foreclose on the property.

The attorney didn't give you complete advice, evidently. In order for you to get title to the home, a probate case needs to be filed. Was such a case filed? Is that the reason for the announcement in the paper?
