i met my husband when my step son was 3 and his mother hasnt called wrote nothing in 6 years (she is even on my husbands facebook and hasnt even asked how hes doing) it saddens me because he is such a wonderful pyoung man and brings me joy everyday granted i know the chances of her ever coming back into his life are slim to none but i dont want her to have the right to come back and confuse him i have never spoken ill of her but i dont want her to beable to come back and break his little heart can someone please give me some advice on actions i can take to put a my mind at rest.

You CANNOT take legal actions. You have no legal grounds to do it.

A step mother has no legal rights what so ever, and the bio mother could show up and most likely get at least visitation though courts.

If your husband wants, and the bio mom will sign over her rights, you can adopt.

As noted, the answer is adoption. Otherwise there is nothing either you or the father can do.

Was that a question or a statement? There is no such thing as "abandonment papers". Again the answer is for you to file for adoption.
