I am considering to buy a furnance. which brand would you suggest. ?my top choices are carrier, trane and lennox? is it wise to go for a 97% efficient or stick to the 80%.tnx

Consider Goodman on your list and go 90%+++. Stay away from variable speed blower motors UNLESS you get a 10 year parts and labor warranty since those motors can be very expensive to repair.
