I fell of a tree from cutting some branches at my friends house while visiting, I injured my self badly, can I sue the home owners insurance?

You can make a claim against it for your injury, no need to sue if they will just pay.

If you have to sue, you sue your friend, not the insurance company, if you win, normally they will have to pay.
