In Nov 2011 I put in a American standard Freedom 95 Modulating Acculink furnce and a Allegiance 20 cond with the matching coil. I would just like to know does this AC unit run alot? If so how does this make it cost efficent? The fan runs at diffrent speeds but it always seems like every time I go outside I hear that thing running usually at a low speed. I only had the unit on for half the month last month and I just recieve my ele bill and its almost $100 more then norally during this time of the year. I would just like to know if I have the thermostat programed wrong, or that is normal for the unit. I wouldnt want my ele bill to be double then it normally is cause they say this unit is 96% effc.

Just about everyone's electric bill is higher because it has been hotter in most of the USA.

You spent very good money for that unit since they are not cheap. I suggest you contact the company that installed your unit since they would be much better at giving you answers than myself since I have never seen your unit and I have no way to test your unit to see if it is up the the performance standards of the Allegiance class units. I do know your unit is a very good brand and model but run times need to take into consideration and the number of degree days temp wise, how it was sized for your home, how the unit was programed etc. Only your HVAC company that sold and services your unit knows all of this. You are still under warranty so only allow the company who installed it or another American Standard dealer work on it since they can maintain the warranty. .

Yes your are right about the bill part. Even the little graph showed I used less ele for for the month of June then I did last year but I paid more this year...

But my system was put in by my friend that does schools and store HVAC. We put it in to factory settings. But most of my programing is done on the thermostat. I thought I had the humitiy setting to high at 55% so I lowered it to 10%. And I had the dehumitiy setting set to 55% but I just lowered it to 50% today. But nothing has changed.

From some of my other friends that work on home units are telling me that the high eff units do what mine is doing by running at diffrent speeds for diffrent periods of time. They have even said that the condencer will go on and the blower fan wont kick on.
Im sure my 4 kids going in and out of the house ever 5 min dont help much either..
