I have a tappan central air unit and the inside fan runs intermittently. It will spin freely and when I turn the fan on at the thermostat I can hear a relay click on the control board, but the fan doesn't run. I have turned the fan on and by hand spun the fan motor assuming if the capacitor was bad it would run, but it still doesn't run.
Are there any more checks I can make before assuming the control board has gone bad and replacing it?
Thanks,
