I'm having trouble with a fairly new toilet. First of all, I've had the toilet "repaired" 3 times. 2 of 3 were journeyman plumbers so I felt comfortable. Toilet leaked a lot. Seemed to be from base where water was. Didn't feel wet at connecting hose or tank. Wax ring has been replaced 3xs. Now definately I can see where tank is leaking. So, of course I'm smart enough to turn off stop valve at wall, but for some reason, this time, tank still fills up, but only half way. I can't afford to have someone come out again & can't ask my dad again! Please help!!! I did find that by propping up the black floating thing inside the tank with a chop stick seems to keep the water from refilling. What's a girl to do???? My dad's a retired journeyman plumber, so I have some skills to fix this if I have the proper instruction. Just can't ask him because I should be married & have a husband to do these things...ok....Thanks!!!!!

Hi Ronne

I'm having trouble telling exactly what you want help with? Is the tank leak an issue...if so, where? Is the wall shut off the issue? Is the toilet filling only half way? Is the problem getting the toilet to shut off?

Please clarify the exact issue here, OK?
