I am CA residence and am planing to work in TX, I need to be Notary Public and it requires DL and residence in TX?
Both states have dual residence status available but do I need dual License?

I will file my TAXES and vote in CA so How can I have both Licenses.

No. It's called...Real ID Act mandates, that all State Department of Motor Vehicles have to follow. That includes Florida as well now.

You can have dual residence, but you cannot not have two Driver's Licenses, from two different states. No, and there is... no if, and but's about this. Ask your DMV, they'll tell you the same thing.

No matter what type of license you are applying for the state's licensing office will check with the National Driver Registry (NDR). This lists problem drivers who have serious offenses on their record such as a DUI or whose license is suspended, revoked, canceled, etc. It will also, show you have a valid drivers license from another state.

I suspect the job requirement is to have a driver's license and a notarial commission in Texas. The DL should be no problem: if you have a California license that should be sufficient for employment in Texas, or anywhere else.

The problem is the notarial commission. Many states, Texas perhaps included, will only commission residents as notiaries. And, of course, a California notary cannot notarize documents in Texas. So OP would have to change his/her state of residence to Texas.

Are you sure? I just don't know what "dual residence status" means. I do know, for example, that you cannot vote in a particular nation-wide election in two different states at once.

He can only have one Drivers License, there are no exceptions for this. Of course if one is with the FBI, CIA, along that nature, then it would be possible. (laughing)
