Age of equipment, best you can tell...10yrs
Brand (Manufacturer)...nordyne..intertherm
Efficiency...see here
air conditioner...
Package unit split system, (furnace inside A/C outside)...

What does it do? not do?
It blows a little bit, but the air is like a vent not cool. W e replaced the blower motor and the capacitor. The evaporator distributor freezes up each time you turn the unit on.I had tech come out last thurs and he said we needed a new a/c unit. The air was blowing through the duct when he took it a loose to see if something was in it. The heat blows through the vents fine. We need help. We had about 4 different techs come out in the last two years.

Restricted air flow will cause it to freeze up (supply duct or RETURN DUCT ) a dirty evaporator coil will also cause it to freeze up. If the system can not suck air it cant blow air out.

The two most common causes of icing up of the Evaporator coil is a dirty filter or coil or the unit is low on freon. Another common cause it the expansion valve could be bad.

Hey nissi. I forgot to ask you if your duct pipe is flexduct or hard pipe. The reason is flexduct will come apart (center core) and block the air flow but the outer part will look fine.
