My father died in seattle without a will. I have one sister who lives in CA near me. I traveled to seattle for his memorial service & to settle apartment bill & he had $2506.00 after his cremation cost. I reimbursed my travel expenses of $950 that's airfare..rental car & parking & hotel. My sister says I cheated her of her fair share. She thinks I should not get paid for travel since I am not the one in charge.fsther left no instructions. I'm do devestaded by her turning on me over a few hundred dollars

You reimbursed yourself out of what? A jointly owned account?

If the money was property of your father's estate (as opposed to your money, if it was a survivorship account owned by you and your father), she would be right; you had no right to be compensated for your travel expenses out of your father's estate.

If I were your sibling, I would turn on you too if I believed you had taken nearly $1,000 which was half mine.
