Thoughts:

. Replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil.

. Replace the spark plugs (NGK only), if they haven't been changed in 3 years.

. Check for codes.

. Replace the Variable Speed Sensor (VSS), if the problem persists.

. Check the Transmission Control Module (TCM), should the problem persist.
