My wife's employer transferred her last year on a L1B visa from the UK to the US. I as a dependent was also able to work, but my wife's position was terminated after 6 months, which meant I had to quit my job after 1.5 months and we had to move back to the UK. My questions now are:
Do we only have to fill out form 1040.
Can we do it jointly or do we need to file separately?
Will I be able to do the e-filing?
Do we need to list our UK income?
Can we deduct the moving expenses?

Many thanks in advance for answering my questions.

It depends on the timing. If the termination happened towards the END of 2011, then you MAY be able to file jointly IF you both were in the U.S. for MORE than 183 days.

If not, you must EACH file Form 1040NR. This return MUST be mailed; efiling is NOT possible.
