Hello!
Admiral washing machine (Model LNC6760 B71, Serial # 20444877EG, bought 2004) begin making strange noise during spin cycle, growing louder with use. When this was accompanied by electrical over-heat odor, machine was shut down and disconnected from power. Being handy (and poor!), I thought to repair it, using YouTube.Cannot find one for my model, and was stumped at the start by not being able to even get the cabinet apart! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Fritz

Generally, there are some clips that hold the top on. You stick a putty knife between the top and the cabinet to compress the clip (item 7 on the diagram) while lifting the top up slightly. There will be one on each side. Then the top should pivot back (you might tape the lid to keep it from flopping).

It's possible that the "electrical" smell is actually a belt slipping, which should be relatively cheap to fix. Once you get it apart, it should be more obvious what you need.
