I am asking this question on behalf of my husband, we are separated, he lives on his own ,but has a girlfriend who is pregnant with his child, he hasn't ever had a child before and really wants this baby. His girlfriend is unstable and has a pshychiatric history. the unborn child has been put on the at risk register and my husband is really upset. He knows he could never have a meaningful relationship with the mother of the chid. He is willing to take full custody of the baby, so what will he have to do to make this possible

Let me see, he is dating a crazy lady, she was ok to sleep with and sounds like he is still sleeping with her. But she is no good enough to raise his child.

So he hires an attorney and proves she is unfit after the child is born and asks for custody of the child.
